I am on the lookout for my last rug (hopefully) to add to my collection.
Im looking for a LW combo rug, preferably no fill or a very very light fill and ideally really good in rain

I have heard mixed reviews on the Shires Tempest range.... any opinion?
or any other suggestions .... looking for as cheap as possible as I have spent way to much on Rugs this year already :(

I have a Shires Tempest and think it's a really good rug for the money. To be fair the pony who wore it was very respectful of her rugs but we never had an issue with it.

My other recommendation is if you have a tack shop near you that stocks the Bridleway range of products. My welsh cob has a Bridleway LW rug and again, excellent quality for the price. Very pleased with it.

Ive found the Gallop no fill combo turnout is very good value for the money, approx £30. All my rugs are Gallop and most of mine are coming into their 6th winter!

I really like my Shires Tempest rugs, I have a few in different weights and think they are good value and a good fit.

I think the Bridleway rugs are also made by Shires.

igot a tempest for one of ours and am getting more, it is the combo neck lightweight with 100 grm fill and now getting 50grm fill, it is lovely and deep and so light, the horse seems very comfortable in it, the water just pools on it and runs off, can`t recommend too highly.

That has made me just click order :D only £53.00 in the sale for 50G combo!

Thanks Pro Shires peeps :D

I've gone off Shires since they changed the chest straps to ones that can't be adjusted and not brought out a chest extender to fit. They just don't fit my boy's broad shoulders any more.

I have a few gallop rugs and for £32 they have been really good they fit well and have not leaked yet and as they are 100g I use them quite a lot it's a handy weight in the mild weather we have been having.
