Can anyone tell me which counties comprise the "hunting Shires", or what towns/villages form the boundary?
(I asked this question on "Yahoo! Answers" but all I got was "Cheshire", so I thought I'd better come where people know what they are talking about!!)
Thank you! :)

Mmm...Leicestershire mainly, pssibly Lincs? mmm Gloucstershire?
Am not very up on my fashionable hunt countries but they'd be my guess!

I believe the Shires to be the areas of Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire (don't quote me!) because these are the areas that were predominantly grassland hunting areas in the old days. You need something like Baileys Hunting Directory for a question like that I think.

as to what towns or villages form the boundary means more which hunts you are actually thinking of!! lol ... I live in Billesdon in Leicestershire and thats Fernie country!
