Yes it's not good that the brats are having a go at the donks but I was more disturbed about the poor zebras dying from neglet - read 'starved to death' on that one.

I think the donks probably have a better life being pinched and thumped than pulling loads far too heavy for them and suffering untold abuse at hands of ignorant owners. Sad but true

Unfortunately, in most countries, this is normal treatment for donkeys, it's rather sad.
I had a kid in August had a ride in one of my donkey carriages. He suddenly hit my donkey on her rear and pulled her tail.

It was all I could do not to grab him and fling him out of the carriage, let alone hit him back.
 
Sadly it's the norm in many countries where any type of equine is routinely abused. Sheer ignorance. You should try being in Morocco and keeping your temper, seeing this sort of stuff and much worse on a daily basis. I was in tears of rage every day when we were there. Not nice.
 
disgusting children, but when you see how some of the humans treat each other, not very surprising.

Shock at the coditions all the animal were living in.
