Sorry had to share!! I got my 2 year old in from the field today, I swear in the last 2 weeks he's grown about 2 inchs!!! He was bum high at a show 3 weeks ago (have the photo's to prove!!) and is now level!! Not only that but he's filled out and looks AMAZING!!! But, and here is the big BUT!! He's a full up 16hh now, his poor mum's only 15.2!! He's dutch warmblood cross so has another 3-5 years of growth and filling out to do! WHAT HAVE I BRED!!!

ah lucky you, i am worried my yearling will be small, currently about 13.2! are pics already on here somewhere?

YUP! Know that feeling. My boy is a good 17hh at 3.5 years old! think he was about 16hh at 2... I'm hoping he's going to now put more energy into filling out than growing upwards!

There'll be pictures on here somewhere of him! He's a H&H foal!! Here he is 3 weeks ago and his very first show, but he's grown, levelled off and filled out even since then!

omg CBFan, although cleveland bays are usually BIG horses!! So expected??? I so hope Alfie doesn't make that sort of height, said all along he'd make 16.2 possibly anything up to 17hh, he was a big foal for my girly, and his sire is only 16.1!!!

He's a lovely lad and looks much more grown up than my three year old, although she is growing at a rate of knots all of a sudden too.

I do like a bit of ginge :D

It's amazing how they seem to change on a daily basis - my 2 year old has had a spurt and stopped again, bum high of course! My four year old HHO foal seems to have stopped - and what a bonus, her withers are higher than her croup, a big plus point when I consider just how short her neck is!

Haha I know someone else who has that feeling, her 2 1/2 year old horse is already a full up 17hh boy! Funny thing is she bought him at 6 months old and owns another from the same stud who is now 5 (same sire, didnt ask about dam) and is only just 16.1hh!

Must be the spring grass. The 3 year old filly i'm working with looked like a moose coming out of winter, major bum high, hairy as a yak and gangly looking. I did my back in, went back up 2 weeks later and she had shed her entire coat, and was looking inches taller and like a proper grown up, as if someone waved a magic wand :D

Your boy looks quite grown up for 2, but bet he's still got quite a bit of growing in him yet ;)
