But it's a stupidly phrased question imho. I don't hunt my "competition horse", I hunt my hunter. They don't give me an option for that! Therefore the results will be meaningless.

most of us that read H&H don't hunt! (please not that for me it's not through choice-I am desperately trying to get my girl out!) Why is that shocking? Very few or the H&H are hunt related and most people just read it to keep abrest of news and results...

no probs. with that- i just cant see how someone can say most people who read HandH dont hunt!! where has this fact come from, if it is a survey then i suppose it was a survey conducted in a town or city asking x number of people- usually the case!!

I haven't hunted for many light years - can't now due to old horse and old(ish) owner/rider.

How shocking is that....?????
Why didn't my little icons work??

To be fair a lot of the people I go hunting with may read H&H but wouldn't go on the website, so it's not a fair representation of all H&H readers! I must admit I don't go online much, but I do hunt my competition horse, always have and as long as they and I enjoy it I always will!

Regarding the title, I was being a little tongue in cheek - it's not like I actually fell off my chair... you'd hope that most H&H readers would at least consider it though, no??

I guess if you hunt all the time you might answer "Regularly", but I see what you mean. But I thought that was kind of the point of the question - are all the people out hunting on "hunters" or do people feel like they can go out on their competition horse?

I used to with Pony Club and took one of my youngsters cubbing a few times as he was a bit backward in most respects (except hunting, as it happened - twas the one thing that set him alight. Didn't last long afterwards though, unfortunately).

But haven't really since, due to safety issues largely! Would love to go out on something sensible again though.

I have one horse - my pet - I do everything with him, riding club dressage, showing, jumping, hacking & when I can afford it (which isn't often) we hunt. So do I hunt my competition horse?

Have just voted! Yes i hunt my "Competiton Horse"... I have a horse which i compete through the summer in SHBGB Open Working hunter and ridden hunter classes, he also showjumps. In the winter he hunts twice a week either with myself or with my Husband who is a huntsman!!!
