I was at Christchurch Horse Show today and saw the most disgraceful thing... There was a driving demo at lunchtime and some of the horses didn't like the carts. One pony had a little girl on it with her mother leading and he was throwing a spooky strop so the mother asked the owners daughter (14 and not small) to get on it. He was still throwing a strop with her and she went over to tell the mother. She had her reins really short and the pony reared, she didn't put her weight forward so she and the pony went over. She got out the way so he didn't land on her, but she got her whip and started to whack the pony, blaming him. A lady ran over and told her to stop, she responded, 'He's my horse, I can do what I like'

How disgusting and rude!!!

By the way, neither horse or rider were hurt.

appalling behaviour and what is teaching the child about horse welfare. Someone should have given her a dose of her own medicene . Evil woman. I hope she was thrown off the show ground in disgrace

People never fail to amaze (horrify) me. One woman at a show whacked her stallion's doo-dah with her show cane every time the judge wasn't looking, because he was obviously interested in the mares in the next ring...
