shockwave

My horse has been diagnosed with a hole in the straight sesamoid ligament.
Vet has given me two options, controlled exercise or turn out for six months. I have decided to turn him away for six months. He is very fit at the moment, was ready to one day event, and a bit of a stressy, spooky, idiot. Out hacking he jogs, rears and is a bit of an idiot so felt this option may not work and is going to be more stressful.
My question is would shockwave be worth doing. He isn't insured so therefore I would be paying. Or is there another treatment, I.e laser that may be an option

I didn't feel shockwave helped at all with my horses suspensory branch calcification. I know of others that its not helped, but obviously the sesamoid is another kettle of fish and I have no experience with this.
