Since my lad has been hacking out *looks for the nearest peice of wood to touch* it now means he's wearing his shoes due to the road work (yay...exciting stuff
) which now means I can study his shoes to see if there is any un-even wear and how he's using himself, unfortunately there is, which can't be a good thing and it's something I want to look into.
He is wearing the outsides of his hind shoes and the toes of his front, not excessively though.
What are the reasons for this, for example conformation/movement/soundness problems etc
I'll be talking to my farrier and picking his brains about this when he comes this weekend to see what he says, also with my vet next time he's down which will be in a 3 weeks, but I wondered what other peoples thoughts/experiences are on this and other certain places of wear on the shoes.
Also what wear patterns if any do your horses tend to have? and what are the reasons for this?
Any info much appreciated.
