hi all my boy has natural balance shoes on his front 24/7 due to pigeon toes and navicular in front right. now i do 97% road work and he drags his back feet so i had back set put on normal shoes and ever since hes slid on back while out.

i had his tack/back checked all fine so i called his previous owner and she said she had nails not studs put in the back as he did that with her, but she doesn't know name does anyone know>? there not studs or screw in studs

I do a lot of road work on hills and have my boy shod with 2 road nails in each shoe.

They are like ordinary shoe nails but have a small ball of something (tungsten?) embedded in each one. As the shoe and nail wear down the ball doesn't wear so fast and sticks out a little bit to give grip.

I find them very effective, but they are a bit more expensive than normal nails so you might find your set of shoes is a fiver more expensive.

It's a real occupational hazard of road work - the slipping. I have road studs behind, and he still slips on some roads......
