Shooting at a horse fair...

if anything good comes out of it at least it has put pressure on the government to close that fair for good. it's an absolute disgrace that the traders managed to assert their right to trade, no horse lover would agree that the area is suitable for horses. it is heartbreaking to see horses being raced over cobbles, galloped 'home' up busy roads by kids, tied up to lamposts, often with 10 horses getting tangled, one horse died or nearly died a few years ago because of this.

how more people or horses were hurt in that stampede is a miracle. there were loose horses everywhere after it, and the square is in the middle of a city and beside a tram line.

its amazing how vehemently the traders are fighting for their rights to trade here due to 'tradition'. i thought this might make them see sense, but they seem to be arguing that its just a few people causing trouble and the fair is usually fine. its a disgrace and hopefully it will get closed now.
