Shooting People? Odd Question Maybe!

Hiya,

Im looking to get some rabbit skins and asked at my local butchers but apparently they get them "pre-skinned" from the local shoots so couldnt help. Was just wondering if anyone knows if i would be able to get a skin from a local shoot or would they think im mad?? lol

If you PM me, next time my husband gets rabbits and skins them I'll freeze the skins and then post them off to you. You'll have to cure them yourself though.

Strange though it may sound, you could try a google search. There are a couple of companies that are often at the game fairs who sell rabbit skins.

Certainly worth trying local shoots and also local farmers who may well shoot rabbits or have someone who shoots them - they won't think you odd at all, honestly!

If you can't find someone local, you can get skins from www.tandyleatherfactory.co.uk which are well cured so nice and soft. Our local gamekeeper cures his own, but they tend to be a bit smelly!!

Most gundog supplies shops will sell cured skins; alternatively google 'vermin control' in your area and you should find someone who will give you a ready supply.
