Not hunting but wasn't sure if it's be welcome anywhere else!
Just got a gun holder certificate and have been giving the 4 10 some hammer with the pidgeons. Turns out i have the crappest aim ever! oh well, having good fun. Also got a 20bore but it think it's too big for me!
Anyway, got 6 in the last 2 nights and a rabbit (which i felt guilty about :P )

Anyway, tips, advice and stuff :)

Are there any local gun club (clay pigeon shooting grounds) near you.

Worth having a couple of lessons point you in the right direction! (no pun intended!! LOL!)
 
By too big, do you mean too long? I had a 20 bore and the guy who sold it to me shaved a couple of inches off the butt and put a rubber pad over it for me.

Keep the bead before the bird. Try not to snatch the trigger.
Agree with K9, breathing is very important.
Don't shoot if you're not sure.
 
relax into your shot and when you get the bird aimed at the end of the barrel dont stop because the bird wont.
 
Well glad to know that there are some shooters on here too.I shoot and have been for many years.I have SGC, and a couple of 12g shotguns(semi auto and u/o)and .22 rifle on a Fac. Keep the gun swinging through with the bird or you will fire behind practice at a local clay shoot.Pigeon are easy to shoot especially over decoys which you can buy cheap.Give me a "Buzz" if help needed.And you will be all ready for the hunting season when it comes if you want the "clean kills" at Pheasant,wildfowl,etc.
 
Go to a local Clay Club - simulated targets to practice, and expert tuition to hand.
