We have a SJ 12h pony on the yard that desperately needs a TO rug with a neck ASAP as she's being clipped soon and feels the cold. It needs to highly resistant to big horse attack and a sensible price. Although we have trawled the usual tack shops, we are at a loss. Any recommendation would be a great help as we are stumped.

She also looks like a big warm blood in proportion other than her height.:D

Please help all you shopping wonders, a little girl is concerned for her pony;)

I feel your pain. I recently kitted out two 11hh ponies and finding quality rugs that fit well is tricky

I bought the Weatherbeeta Original turnout and am very pleased with the quality and the fit is immaculate for my pony, the fill is 220g though so maybe not heavy enough

This one is a better denier so should be tougher and its heavier but it isnt clear whether it comes with the neck

I have just bought a 12.2 dainty welsh thing with no coat! In the wind and rain he stands and shivers like a wuss! I bought him rhino pony rugs. Nice thick denier which keep the wind and rain out. I bought a few no fills and a few mediums that I will leave stable rugs on underneath once he is clipped this week depending on his temperature etc.

Ruggles are brilliant, top quality rugs, sensible prices, go down to small sizes. I've found them to be on the large size so you may find you need to go down a rug size x

Weatherbeeta or Knight Rider - Ebay for those.

Suit littlies very well. My colt foal is in a Knight Rider rug, 4ft I think he is wearing atm. Very adjustable at the neck.

Our fine 12.2hh who is in 4ft 9 has a Rambo HW wug which is still going strong coming into it's 10th winter!
His medium weight (but they do HW) is a weatherbeeta landa combo which is a fab wee rug :)

One of my ponies has a 4ft9 Mark Todd pony turnout rug. It's a nice fit and wasn't expensive. I got it on Amazon. It's only 220g though, I know you can get a full neck version, not sure if you can get a heavyweight.

I've got a 4th 6 Rhino high neck I'm selling... It's a great rug, but too big for my Shettie. worn twice for 6 hours each time, and just cleaned/reproofed for selling.
He wears a 4ft 6 Amigo and they fit him great. They are a good rug too. He also has a 4ft 6 Rambo with no neck 350gram that's a fab rug that I picked up for £45 a few years ago in a bargain bin.
Ps: for the anti rug brigade, he's elderly, is stabled at night all year round and gets a chill if he's unrugged in the wet / windy & cold weather

I have the Mark Todd heavyweight turnout and heavyweight stable (both with detachable necks) for our 12hh pony. They fit him brilliantly and are excellent quality for a good value price. (Def as good as his Horseware ones that he came with). Got mine from Equestrian Clearance.

We have got through a couple of these unfortunately. The big horse ripped them. We need tough, tough, tough! Although this year, we may just separate them:rolleyes:
