My head is very oddly shaped, it is also small so I find it really hard to find hats to fit. The only ones that seem to do the trick are the Charles Owen. I have a Showjumper XP for shows but would really like a lightweight one for everyday/ hot shows as the velvet makes my head quite sweaty. I'm debating between the Wellington Pro and the Ayr8.
The Ayr8 would make sense as it is ventilated and nice and cool but I prefer the look of the Wellington Pro a little more (I'm not a fan of the mesh at the back of the Ayr8 but maybe not so obvious if I got Navy on Navy?)

Any advice or opinions? Does anyone have these helmets and love/hate them?
 
I have just received my ayr8 and am well impressed. I did try on the wellington but rather liked the colour options on the ayr8 and the mesh doesn't bother me. In a country where hats are reserved for children and competitions (I am the lone adult hat wearer freak!) I have had a load of compliments! I have always had CO skull caps so this is my first hat and I love it! I have a friend who has an ayr8 in black velvet and the mesh is velvety and you wouldn't know it's mesh unless you got up very close. Mine is the one like Charlotte's so it's a bit flash but the velvet ones are very smart and the CO logo is less obvious.
 
They are quite different shapes inside so it is likely you will fit one or the other but not both. AYR8 are longer and narrower (quite oval) and Wellington pros suit rounder headed people! Although obviously if your head is round you could buy a round fit AYR8 ;)
 
VickyP - Thats good to hear that the mesh isn't too obvious, I think it is more so if you get the silver base which I won't be going for.

Keenjean - thanks that is interesting as I've tried on an Ayr8 and it fit my head quite well as I have a real oval shaped head. Hmmm maybe not for the Wellington then - though I loooove it
 
E I love the Wellington. I'm not a fan of the mesh, I know I have that gr8 but it's at least two tone not mesh. I think the Wellington is bloody classy although should I need another hat I will get the young rider version of the Wellington. It's like £60!
