Hi everyone -

Can anyone recommend any short break riding holidays (not bank-breaking! :) ), to suit 2 experienced riders - incorporating maybe lessons and hacking?

All suggestions appreciated.............. :)

There was a post the other day about how much Cavblack (?) had enjoyed a break at Castle Leslie in Monaghan, and I have been there too and can highly recommend. That said its not cheap, although I would call it value for money.

Hi I recently went to Hippikos in Portugal (45 mins from Porto) and I seriously couldn't recommend it more. So much so I am going back (twice already). It was amazing on the most fabulous horses, amazing food, fantastic tuition and stunning facilities. They take people Sunday to Saturday so 6 days with riding mon to fri (3 full on lessons a day!!) you can swap any lesson for hacking too. It wasn't cheap (but not bank breaking either) but to be honest absolutely everything was included and it was simply worth every single penny. I learnt more in that week than I have learnt in the last year. I just couldn't recommend it more. I have written about it on my website and there are a couple of video's of me riding there! I know you said not expensive and short holiday so not entirely sure how short or how cheap but i guessed it was worth mentioning. If you go on their website and check out guest comments you will (like me) think, can it really be that good? It was better. :) Flights are easy jet and very cheap!! You can choose dressage, sj or a combination. Hippikos

You're right! Absolutley loved it!!! It was a lot of money but good value for money if that makes sense!

We paid £497 for 3days/nights with 9 hours riding which included incredible hacking and lessons with experienced instructors. You could tailor your riding as much as you wanted!

This was booked through in the saddle. But you can book through Castle Leslie, not sure on price differences though!
