So I've ordered a new monoflap jump saddle (very excited!) and I need to purchase a short girth. What does everyone use? Will a dressage girth do? Any advice welcome 😊

Depends what your budget is... Most saddleries make one to go with the mono flap jump saddle but they can be a couple of hundred, in which case it would also be worth looking at the fairfax. Otherwise at a lower budget the prolite version of the fairfax or the mark Todd event girths or the cheapest option would be just a general dressage girth 🙂

Do you want one with a stud girth?

I'd suggest looking at total saddle fit in the shadow horse website or a company from the Czech Republic - good brand you will know the name of, has escaped me at the minute!

Following with interest as I am in the same boat. Purchased cheapy thorowgood dressage girth to use with monoflap jump saddle, put it on horse and horse went OUCH. Found the edges of the thorowgood girth pinched him horribly :(

Update; I bought a lovely Mark Todd 28" event girth. Looks nice and soft, but after 2 long rides he now has sores either side, by his elbows....Sighs.... Anyone need a 28" event girth? I have reverted to using a 20+ year old dressage girth, with no problems 😒😕??

I use the thorowgood ones too. The other option could be to try a kieffer neoprene, a bit more expensive but I've heard good things. I have a monoflap jump and a dressage and just change the girths between the two.
