Short stable doors for minis ?

What do you guys have / use so your minis have a view when they are in their stable , can you buy short doors or local carpenters etcetc.

You can tell I am new to mini owning lol

I asked for a three part door when ordering stables so can still be used by normal horses.

Other friends with minis have added a second mini door behind the normal door so when big door pinned back the little ones can see over small door 😊

I had a bottom door made so that it could split to accommodate either a full size or my mini. It's roughly half and half with two sets of door furniture and joins together when I put a full sized horse in the stable (it's 12 x 16, not mini sized). The pony looks very cute in it and definitely prefers it to not being able to see out

Have a look at your top door - it is probably shorter than the bottom door, in which case, you cold remove it and rehang it on the bottom.

A yard near me ordered some top doors and use those as bottom doors for goats, they work really well

As auslander said, when we have had minis on the yard i have just hung the top door on the bottom- perfect size!

Mine has the stair gate that was cluttering up my house as the children stopped needing it about a decade ago!

I had a a mini stable door made by a local carpenter for £40, it's basically a top door but as I have an american barn I didn't have a top door to use in the first place

As others say: utilise a top door (how often are they ever used apart from decor?).

Great idea about the top door. I am trying to arrange one of my outbuildings into a suitable stable for my two Shetlands and was considering what to do about doors ... this thread has given me the answer.

I swapped over the top and bottom doors so that it could easily be put back to normal when the ponies were replaced by horses

I use a chain instead of a door. I like the extra airflow
