shortend stride

hi my 5yr old has a shortend stride in walk in his right foreleg and is fine in trot and canter and lands on both front legs jumping hes barefoot and on this hoof hes worn the toe back a little more than the left foreleg any ideas what it could be? should i get him shod on his fronts?

My horse is barefoot 6 months into transitionig, he sometimes goes a little short same leg as yours, is yours being turned out on frozen rutty ground as i think this can cause a bit of bruising. Have you got any hoof boots you could pop on to see if there is a difference.
