Hi all,
My farrier came yesterday to reshoe my daughters pony, he mentioned that his off side fetlock was enlarged. We took a good look and it is a different size on one side. It isnt swollen , no heat and no tenderness. He is totally sound having just won a ODE this week. He had just come back from a XC rally and was fine and jumping well so doesnt appear to be in pain.
I am worrying because he is so precious to us but not sure what to do .
Any ideas ?

My daughter says she thinks it might have always been like this, we have had him two years but not sure if we would have noticed as it is slight.

wouldnt he be lame then ? Never had this before so not sure. Looking at pictures of this weeks jumping he does on the whole seem to be putting that foot down first.

Thanks for your reply. I have been doing some reading and it doesnt sound the same. There is no fluid or soft swelling. We are spending hours looking at him trying to see what is different. It is more like extra bone rather than fluid and is on the outside of the off front fetlock. Pictures wont really help I dont think. Have just trotted him up and he is totally sound. Will give him a few days out in the field and see how he looks. Fingers crossed
