Pretty sure she's just eaten a cotton bud 🙄

I do have a tendency to over react, and Mr AP isn't here. Vet or monitor?

*never mind I just rang and they said to monitor her as it was a paper kind may come out either end without issue but gave me the usual signs to look out for. I'm such a walking panic attack.

Thank you both! I struggle to know what to do and usually err on the side of caution. She's so gross, she fished it out the bin and will eat basically anything with a bodily fluid on it 🤢

My lurcher has eaten lots of stuffing out of soft toys when I didn’t notice him doing it, it does come out eventually 😂 needless to say no soft toys allowed any more

How is she today? I know you’ll be poo searching, it might have not been eaten or be small bits. Mine used to (sometimes still do) have stones tucked in their mouths, never swallowed, thank god, but it used to be a highly prized item. Constant bloody worry!

My whippet LOVES cotton buds.

One time he managed to get a hold on the whole box from the side in the bathroom. Goodness knows how many he had eaten before I noticed what he had done.

They have always passed through fine. I don't think the old plastic ones exist anymore do they?

Bandit swallowed a sock once, on Christmas Eve night.

I spent an hour and a half at the ooh vets looking at pictures of my Croatian vet's Croatian horse what lives in Croatia while Bandit spewed up all over the floor.

He's never eaten a cotton bud though.....silver linings

Why do dogs do this sort of thing?

Because they're sent to torment us :D

And because they can, and know that you're going to skint yourself getting them better! Could have been worse. Could have been a horse vet who's visitations cost ££££ :)

one of the many reasons I don't have a horse 😂
I once called OOH vet for a guinea pig bleeding from her vet. Vet phoned me straight back and said you can bring her in for £250 or you can dip it in flour and see if it stops. It did 😂 This must have been about 4 years ago and said piggy lived until two weeks ago.

£250! I would have felt a right tit if I'd paid that for no reason, but I absolutely would have paid it 😂

Outstanding! I mean, having to check the poo is not brilliant, but good that you found it! I stood back as the OH cleaned Mitch’s bum this morning post walk, feathers are a pita sometimes!

A lady in the pub tonight told us how ‘stunning’ he was multiple times-he is very dressage pony when he’s trotting/on high alert. Thought I’d avoid telling her about his pooey bum this morning! 💩 Didn’t want to spoil the compliment!

@Cinnamontoast that's hilarious. I never realised how truly disgusting they were until I got one. Once someone stopped to admire her and she took that moment to do the wettest poo I've ever seen. The admirer gave me her water bottle to help clean it up 😂😂

I'm now willing to admit that the evening it happened, and with Mr AP being away, I let her sleep in the bed with me incase she was sick and I didn't hear her downstairs 🙈🙈

Frankly, I’d do the same, or be paranoid checking every 20 minutes! I’m already worried about having Mitch downstairs tonight and us upstairs. (See broken bones thread)

I was sorry to read about Mitch. Would you be able to sleep downstairs in one of the reclining chairs so you can keep be near him, you and Mitch might both get a better night's sleep that way.
