Should I hog my TB's mane?

I only have the lycra hoods with the eye holes, didn't know they made them just with necks and no heads! :D Will have to try them when the colder weather starts again.

I have a Rambo and an Aerborn and every year the same thing happens with her mane. this year i think it's the combo of a taller boyfriend and the neck rug that's done it. I think i will have to tell Charlie to shove off as he's ruining his girlfriends mane!!
 
bin all your neck rugs,she'l be fine in a standard neck as long as its heavy enough. The lycra neck covers,a snuggy hood to be precise has ruined my horse's mane for this year. IMHO they are only suitable for use before a show - i know some people use them all the time with no problems but i dont think its worth the risk - my mare's mane went bald, the roots were so badly damaged it is taking forever to come back in.
 
Just plait what mane you do have, there will be lots of people in the same situation at this time of year and providing she's turned out nicely I'm sure you won't be penalised in your showing class.
