Its minus 7 here in the Highlands, severe frost all day and night, grass totally white. Is it ok to out my lami prone cob out for a few hours, or even overnight? I avoid Spring and Autumn frost .I would tie masses of haynets up!

I would put him out with a big pile of Hay, (make sure you break the ice on his water too) and then check him in a couple of hours. feel the base of his ears to see if they are warm'ish. If he looks like he is doing OK, then leave him....but thats my own opinion, and what I would do with one of mine, and I dont know your horse.

Its -4 here, I've put mine out with a pile of hay and making sure their water isn't frozen over, with their cosy rugs on and bringing them in about half 2 before the darker chill sets in again.

-6 here .. my girl is happy munching away at her big pile of hay

Of the 2 lami ponies I have, 1 is out permanently with my other horses. So he's on frosted grass a lot (lived out 24/7 for past 15 years since having his big lami attack). He's not so prone as others though, depends how sensitive yours is. Id personally turn out but with loads of hay.
