I have a beautiful welsh section B that I bought 18months ago.

I put her in foal but had a stillborn

I plan to show her in hand this year but am dying to ride her. I am 5'9 and weigh10stone. I know I'll look silly but what do you think?

I think you'll be just about Ok - maybe for a few minutues at ta time and build it up gradually if shes been out of work all that time. I used to ride a section B when I was younger and was of similar weight and he had no trouble but he was fit and in regular work.

I've a 13hh welshie, I weight 10 stone, and she carries me fine. But if she's unfit and been out of work for sometime, I'd start with short rides first and build her up, just like you would any pony or horse.

The biggest problem you will have is finding a saddle that fits her back and ur bum, and I'm talking from experience, I went treeless in the end, and its worked out great.

Just get on her and give her a whirl, she'll soon let you know if she doesn't like it x

You'll be fine weightwise once she is fit, dependent on her age and development.

Lunge eliptically (I don't like them going in just circles), long-rein, and Pessoa to build up the muscle she'll need to carry anyone, especially after time-out.

Feed accordingly

i will probably shouted at for this, but it is my opinion that at your hieght and weight, you maybe be slightly to large for her. do you have a smaller person that would be wiling to get her going for you, under your supervision. if not, how about teaching her to drive.....

what sort of sec B is she? as in how fine?

I used to ride a friends sec B years ago, I would have been about 8.5-9st at the time and kept an eye on my weight for him. I only rode him occasionally he was very very strong and was the sort that needed the chance to have a blow out down the beach sometimes! Stopping was still a problem but he was a fab little pony, I also did the odd games on him.

I am now nearer the 9.5-10st mark and honestly, if he was still about I dont think I would ride him at my current weight as he was quite fine.

(I am 5'5)

My pony is a stocky 12.2hh, I'm 8.5st nd 5'7/5'8 and he copes fine

personally I think you are a bit big for her both height and weight wise, if you rode her at a show too I think you would get some seriously bad comments - I dont agree with this but some people forget their manners! Would you not just enjoy showing her inhand and find a bigger horse to ride? :-)
