Not sure how many of you saw my last thread about risking riding Ned alone in the school.

Turns out I didn't have to worry as I ran a bit late and got there after the hunt had returned, my mum also came with me.

Anyway, I'm SO bl**dy glad I did have someone with me!
Ned was a bit lively when I brought him in, so while I cleared the school of jumps I let him have a run about in the field. When I went to collect him again he was much calmer and I tacked him up with little effort.

I walked him around the school, showed him the scary corners and he was very good.

Then it came time to get on...
I put my foot in the stirrup and he shot backwards! Almost sitting down in the process! He's never done that before, so I began to worry.
I tried another 3 or 4 times to get on, but he was not having it, biting and trying to kick. I might be a novice at schooling work (Not riding), but I know very well how to get on!
So, I took his saddle off and had a feel of his back, nothing seemed wrong, but I'm no expert! I tried his saddle once more and he was fine while I put it on, but when I went for the girth he was just as bad again.

I figured better safe than sorry, so I decided to call it a day. I've sent a text to his owner to let her know what happened and she should get the vet out to check him over!

I'm almost 100% sure he wasn't just taking the mick, as he seemed in pain, rather than just being difficult. Like I said, he's never done it before, even the first time I took him in there, he was happy to let me get on!

So here I am, anxiously awaiting her call/text!!!
