Dilemma....I have an IW trailer. I used to use it nearly every weekend but I have given up competing (have given up riding more or less!!) I do perhaps 1 maybe 2 shows per year....If I sell it it will free up some cash but it doesn't really cost me anything anyway as I can store it FOC at yard. After july I'm not sure if I'll have a tow car anyway as 4x4 on it's last legs. Yet I think if I do sell it I will regret it. It's a sort of security knowing I can get to the vet's if I have to (transport is hideously expensive in my area) I can always get a big estate for the odd tow anyway. Just interested to see what others would do. Trouble is as it's just sitting on the yard minding it's own business other people seem to think I want to lend it out  Not a chance - it's not insured for other people to tow and I don't want it handed back damaged!!

I traded my old trailer in and bought a new Ifor Williams about 4 yrs ago. I hardly use it now, maybe taking my daughter to the odd show or moving round bales of hay! I was like you, thinking its cash sitting there doing nothing, but I feel better knowing at least its there if I have to get my horses to the vet school in a hurry without having to go asking about.
If its not costing anything to keep it, for peace of mind, I would keep it, but then again, if you can borrow a trailer quickly, the extra cash would be inviting!!

I would keep it!

I have bought one in Dec have only used it once to move horses about but my mare is 28 and I bought it as I needed to take her to hospital to have a lump removed and it was a nightmare trying to find one to hire for a day, that was local and didn't have restrictions on when I could pick it up and drop it back again! so I am just using mine to learn to drive with, so I can do my trailer licence and for that just in case time! im sure once I have a licence I would use it more but I just have to rely on people to sit with me at the moment!
