I joined this forum to defend my dogs in the 'Fox hounds as pets' thread.

I have 2 dogs one is a part welsh, part English Fox hound, the other dog is a scenthound of some sort.:o

Now I can't decide whether to stay on this forum,I have recognised a couple of names from other forums I am on so I would quite like to stay, but I didn't get a very warm reception when I first posted.

I have a lot of experience in a variety of dog breeds,I used to follow the hunts with the Lakeland fell packs,I know nothing about horses, apart from where the head & tail is.

So try and convince me to stay,I will be mainly in the dog forum, that's why I have posted this here.

If you think you get grief for having foxhounds you want to try having GSDs.
On a more serious note some of us do get a bit heated about things on here sometimes but generally we are a pretty okay bunch I reckon. I didn't postg on the other thread cos I know nothing about foxhounds but did think the shot of your lad moving was great.:)

Stay, we're nice, honest :p I thought your pic of Craven trotting was very smart, if you would like some flattery...and I have wine.
Would you like some wine?? :D

I have two slopey backed cripples...sorry, GSDs, one showline (the big grey one in my sig), one workingline (black and fluffy!), I started to work my showline about two years ago to help get dog aggression out of his system, despite being told I was mad, we got our basic obedience test and a tracking title and I got bitten by the bug, joined lots of committees :p and I am now training my new dog towards a Schutzhund title..or three...please!!!!

I like to waffle on about GSDs a LOT and my favourite subjects are focus/attentionwork and different drives :p

Stay :)
If anyone bothers you too much, there is a user ignore button if you feel the need :)
They're for the most part a lovely bunch of people in here and very knowledgable (sp?)
Be nice to have someone else in here that is from Scotland and also doesn't own a GSD :p

Well I did not read the post and cannot comment on "stay or go"..........but one of the best reasons for you to stay..............

Is......of course...because I AM HERE;)

That is why CC and MM are here really;):D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

:D:p

Stay:) I didn't comment on your post as I have no idea re Foxhounds! But I like a nice dog and your two looked lovely. I've had a few spats on here, but nobody has resorted to personal insults (i don't think:confused:) and I've learnt an awful lot about different breeds.:)

lakesgirl,

don't be silly. Stay. Some will have issues with the promoting of Foxhounds, as family pets, and I'm amongst them, but for those, like you I suspect, who've taken them in, I may be the only one, but I admire your courage!! ;)

Most on here are decent people.

Alec.

Thank you everyone.

These are for the GSD lovers:D Craven and his pal Sabre

you might aswell stay. I need regular answers to my numpty questions :) this lot are prob bored of me... I need new victims :)

hmm that sounded wrong.. with it nearly being Halloween n all... Im a nice person really :) x

I did comment on the thread, Ive had experience of hounds in the past and felt able to give my opinions. That is what a forum is really opinions, I can agree with someone on one subject and disagree on another. As far as Im concerned it is never personal and I wouldnt be rude, I think what drives me and most people on this forum is a love of dogs in all their forms.

Your pics are lovely and it is great to see him hooning around with his friend. My breed of preference is Dobermanns and they attract a fair amount of predujice, plus mine are rescue who have come to me with problems caused by people who dont understand or bother to exercise and train them.

I think this forum is very friendly and with people who go out of the way to offer help and advice.

Stay this is a nice forum. I am not inner circle (you do notice some who seems to know each other) but people are usually pretty honest without being too rude. At the end of the day it's not like they are in your front room you can just ignore those you want to. Plus there are often lovely photos to look at.

I like Border Collies, had one as a pet and I'm looking for another one to adopt from rescue. There's many who would argue they are not pets, working dogs only etc. etc. that's their problem not mine. I even had someone tell me that my lovely girl was not actually a proper collie because she had the wrong ears!!

gratuitous photo of my lovely Megan :)

Stay tis not so bad- my rescue Staff X (oh good throw in some more prejudice- humpgh!), probably would not still be with me if it were not for these guys help- butt kicking and overall knowledge!!

You may recognise my username LOL

ive just read that thread. i cant see where you were made 'unwelcome' . we dont throw a party every time a new poster appears im afraid!
I cant see where you got any harsh treatment on the foxhound thread tho, just people's perfectly acceptable opinions .. what was it you took exception to?

if you want to stay you'd be more than a welcome addition and i hope you do (if you really need my validation) but Im slightly confused as to why you want a whole thread dedicated to us convincing you to though.

stays if you wants, don't if you dontz

:D

The reason for the thread was to gauge posters reactions and to see whether I wanted to stay on the forum, and it's nice to see that most replies have taken my original post in the manner it was intended, tongue in cheek.:)

But thanks for the nice welcome anyway:rolleyes:

It`s a bit difficult to be very pro foxhound on a Horse and HOUND forum, cos we are all brought up to believe they should`nt be pets (NO..not going there)But do stay, these GSD and Spannell folk need diluting with something a bit different.
Personally, because mine are ultra shorthaired, I often feel submerged in wet fluffy and smelly dog hair on this forum.!:D

um, i just said i hoped you stayed and i thought you'd be a welcome addition to the forum. i was being completely genuine. i dont really understand what more you want in the way of welcomes?!!
..we dont seem to throw parties (rather a shame that, an excuse to open a bottle would never go amiss !)
