due to a fall i had last week, i have got to take 3 months off riding, however, my horse has just been given the all clear from the vet to start light work, the vet wants him worked then is coming back in a few weeks to see his progress (if any) the vet only wants him ridden in walk a couple of times a week, so he has rest days between as its still early days,
but, the horse in question is only 4 and isnt an easy ride he is safe to hack alone in company but he has a lot to say for himself and needs a calm quite rider who wont flap when he has a strop, he is also 17.3hh,
nobody at my yard will ride him, purely because of his size,
do i pay someone to ride him, or try and find someone who wants to hack, slowly a couple of times a week (obviously no contribution)

cookies if you got this far

To be fair to the horse and to establish the kind of understanding consistent treatment a young horse needs, I would recommend you pay somebody.

*you retain complete control of the activites the horse undertakes
*you retain the contact with the vet and other specialists you need
*you can require professional qualifications or experience to suit your needs

Sharers can be loose cannons, even with the best intentions.
