Hi

I got a my new saddle in Sept last year an Albion GP.Saddler checked again 4/6 weeks later flocked it. F has started to come back into proper work since then. We have lots of hilly and flat hacking, I have been using a breast plate mainly for something for me to grab hold off. However the last 2 times F has been ridden without breatplate and saddle has slipped back and so has nunmah.

Saddler is due late April/May should I get out before.

Hiya, i would try to get the saddler out before april, this certainly shouldn't be happening with a new saddle that has been fitted to your horse so recently. Has your horse gained or lost weight at all since it was fitted?

it depends how much it's slipping back, tbh. if it's starting off a bit too far forwards and moving back to just behind the scapula with the horse's movement pushing it as he works, then it's okay. but if it's starting off in the right place and moving back further, to the middle of his back, then it doesn't fit and you need to get your saddler back. the last thing you want is any pressure on his loins, and if it goes back too far, that could happen.

Thank you for your repiles, yes he has changed shape. I did leave a message for my saddler in the week so I will see when she come see him.

Your saddle absolutely should NOT be slipping. I hope your saddler can get out quite quickly as this shouldn't be left for too long.
