So the foals gone, and my mare seems quite happy and relaxed. She doesnt look like she is about to burst any more and her bag has reduced in size quite considerabley. Shes no longer dripping milk down her legs etc.
How ever, the reduction in size of her milk bag seems to have stopped now. She is half full and has stayed that way for about 4 days now...
She is out 24/7 on very poor grazing, and ive recently started bringing her in at night with 3 sections of hay soaked in a very small holed haynet.
This is making no difference?
Should i just leave her out and hope she starts to dry up more soon... or should i be stableing her day and night and restricting her hay?
I dont know what to do for the best
Any ideas?
