I have just been advised by our local tack shop that shoulder pads are now compulsory for BE. Anyone know if this is just a sales pitch or if it's true as I couldn't find anything on the BE website about it.

I would have put it down to over zealous sales, but when I got back to the yard, one of the other liveries also said it was true.

Hope someone in the know can help.

Thanks v much.

The BE rulebook says that body protectors are compulsory for cross-country and that Level 3 body protectors are specifically recommended. The body protector chosen should impede neither flexibility nor balance. No mention of shoulder pads.

yip, that's what I read, not even heard rumours that they might be soon.

Grrrr, hate it when shops do that, just trying to get you to spend more, as if BP's weren't pricy enough anyway.!!

Thanks v much.

i went BE with no shoulder pads last year, and im hoping i dont have to rush out and buy some for this year?! though dont suppose it be a bad thing if i did add some to complete my turtle powers!?
