I am taking a shetland in a ridden M and M class at a local show.

What do I wear - My normal outfit is Blue/Navy Jacket, Beige jods, Navy hat, black jod boots.

I think that I may have to wear a tweed jacket though ! I don't have one and I don't really want to have to buy one if I am just going in one show. A google search has shown people riding in blue/black jackets. Pony is black by the way

You'll get away with what you have but m & ms are correct in a tweed.

So, velvet hat ,shirt & tie, jacket, beige jodhs, jodh boots with clips. Dark gloves and a smart cane.

At local level, it won't matter. Promise! I've gone into WH classes on my old boy with him unplaited (and he had a pit pony mane, despite being a TB!) with a square white numnah and no gloves and come 2nd (horse who won was a better horse, who was also in a similar state- we'd both entered on a whim!).

Looking correct is nice, but spending unnecessary money on a tweed jacket... Nah. Maybe invest in some pale yellow jods though, as I reckon they'd be more correct than white... But equally, if you don't want to, don't!

Thank you :) I am used to showing arabs so it was a big big shock being chucked onto a shetland pony :)

I'll go for it
