Any idea what a show cob would look like as a foal/youngster. I just can't "see it".

All the ones I know change so much I find it really difficult to spot one as a baby! None of them look like they have enough bone and the proportions are all wrong (short legs to body ratio) - they look all too even!

Anybody got any pictures of theirs' as babies??

**bump**

I too would like to see responses/pictures of a young/foal Show Cob. I have coloured Show Cob, but he is 11, and I have been unsuccessful trying to find any pictures of his as a foal/youngster.

I'm looking for a another show cob, preferably a foal - but just like yourself, would like an idea of others, to confirm what I suspect they would look like! :)

This foal is looking like making a show cob...... Lippizzaner X Highland.

Well I bred this chap who I thought would end up as a show cob but grew too big and is now hunting and eventing in England.
This is him as a foal:

As a very slow grown 5 yr old just before I sold him:

Hope that helped, I have more if you want but his ugly phase lasted from 6 months till 5 yo so not too many baby pics!

Here is my chap- he was my 21st birthday present.. he matured to exactly 153cm with shoes on!- well under the height of 155cm but everyone says he looks huge!

How is he bred DDD?

Nod was bred by Sarah Derby in Wincanton. His mum was the patchwork duchess- you can just see her behind him in the field pic- she was a 14.2 skewbald PC superstar who did everything- unknown breeding but probably a irish cobx. Dad was ST Ives, a 16hh coloured 3/4 ID - absolutely stunning and Nod is the spitting image of dad (except for being a solid bay!)

i have been looking for years for another out of St Ives- he seems to be a prolific sire and there are several of his sons at stud. whats interesting is they all seem to consistantly throw around the 15hh mark :)
