Hi,
I was thinking of hogging my mare and wanted to start showing her as a show cob but I'm getting myself really confused about what kind of cob she would come under, she is only 15.2hh and is fine in the legs (I need to measure her bone), please look in my album to see a picture of her (it won't let me load it to this post)! I need as much help and advise as possible as I am new to showing cobs.

Thank you.

The photo is not the best to judge her by, a side on without tack would be better but to me she does not look like a true show cob type, she is too light, pretty and rather ponyish so I would not hog her unless there was another reason for doing it, if she is really 15.2 she may be over height for the classes anyway and is certainly not a maxi cob, the height limit for show cobs is 155cm, about 15.1 so you need to check that as well.

Agree with Be Positive but she does not look like a show cob to me for the reasons that she has listed and she definitely would not suit being hogged. I would suggest leaving her as she is and showing her in coloured classes instead.

Your mare is not a show cob. she is too light of bone and not enough substance to her, she is also over height for the cob weight classes but likely to be tiny compared to most maxi cobs.
Personaly I'd plait her and show her in the coloured classes as i'm not sure she falls into one of the other types. A side on photo without tack would help.

For reference this is a good show cob:

What a striking horse conniegirl! how would you describe the colour? Is it some kind of dun, or bay (albeit a very pale bay) with sooty

Sorry I can't help you op, I have no idea, my French horses don't fit any English classes at all!. she is very pretty though :)
