Going to a show on sunday just a small local one, does anyone have any advice for me? Its our first one and we are doing school master and ridden horse. No jumps or dismounting but the judge may want to ride in the ridden horse class.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Any tips from you pros? What do i say to the judge when he comes over?

Smile, say good morning/afternoon and answer any questions they ask you about your horse without turning it into a lengthy reply! Make sure your stirrup leathers are long enough incase of a tall judge & the stirrups wide enough as well. When the judge brings your horse back after riding it he/she may stop short of the line up to dismount so be ready to go and hold the horse.

Other than that just do the best you can & have fun!!

most of all relax and smile and enjoy it. Be prepared that if you do need to ride your show yourself to do it from either direction. Just in case they put the horses in the opposite direction to the way you have practised and you don't feel like being the odd one out and turning around.
As Ex said the judge will ask want he/she wants to know. Make sure you listen to instructions and if the horses before you all do the same show, make sure it is not a 'set show' as happened to a friend of mine the other week, we had no idea it was a set show lol

REMEMBER we do it for fun, not to torture ourselves lol
