I believe so, but it doesnt always work like that. I have found that one 36 can be very different size wise to another 36. Very dependent on make. I've got a 38'' and I'm a 36B/C bra size.
I didnt think it was that. I thought the inches referred to the bigest part of your top, ie your boobs. take a tape measure and measure round the biggest bit ofyour boobs.... if that makes any sense.
Assume you would be a tad bigger than bra size as you have to allow for a shirt underneath and also room to move. Go to tack shops and try some on as they all vary in size and style I have 2 x hacking jackets Gorringe and Caldene both fit differently and I also hate both of them!!!
Nightmare!! I always find show jacket sizing a complete mystery. I'm a 36c and I have a 36 jacket that is really a size too big!!! I don't think you can buy one without having tried it on first.
At least show jackets take into account the fact that your shoulders and arms will be bigger than the average womans, much better than ordinary jackets. I think they are supposed to measure up like ordinary clothes, 12=36 etc. Like breeches 28=14, but like all clothes sizes, seems to depend on make.
