ok, well my YO has pursuaded me to join her (will be just the two of us in a group) in a SJ/XC clinic at my livery yard with Caroline Moore. I'm looking forward to it, but... I have really lost my nerve jumping.

When i was younger i would jump all day if i could, and would jump anything i was told to, but after a nasty fall, and then my mare having to stop jumping i just put it off time and time again, and havent really jumped properly for about 3 years. Now i have the loan horse, who i have popped over a few tiny fences since i've had him, and thats it. everytime my instructor was planning on intorducing jumps it was either rubbish weather, too dark or he had just come back from injuring himself (i think he's a self harmer!)

I was just wondering what sort of thing to expect, have any of you had any lessons or done a clinic with Caroline? - i've never done any clinics or anything like it before and I'm soooooo nervous and worried i'm going to make a plonker of myself.

The SJ/XC clinic that is held at our yard do loads of exercises such as grid work, surpentine jumps, etc but no matter what the exercise is she will not push riders or horses who cannot cope. She is happy to alter fence size and striding so I wouldn't worry too much.

Although these clinics are not held by Caroline Moore I am sure the majority of people will have a similar approach. Why don't you just take your horse and warm up and take it from there, jump some jumps have a little rest and do some more to slowly build you both up.
