New horse is very careful and scopey over x-country fences and workers fences but seems to be very lazy with his feet over coloured poles. He isn't spooky at fillers or anything just isn't particularly bothered if he knocks poles. He seems to enjoy his jumping alot.
He has mostly done workers in the past and not much show jumping.
Anyone got any good exercises to try and encourage him with the show jumping. We have been doing loads of grid work and pole work but want ways to make it exciting and get him thinking and I'm running out of ideas.
Also anyone else who has experienced this scenario did you find it better to keep the jumps small or put them up a bit to encourage him to respect them?
Thankyou
