I'm recently been to my friends yard and seen her 36yr old TBxFell ex riding school pony who is looking fab!

Do you have an equine 16+ retired or ridden?

Here's my 21 year old BWP who's still ridden :)

I love oldies! They are so much fun :)

my dun mare is 28 - shes still ridden, tho had the winter off but will be back into work soon, once we've done a bit of lunging to build up her top line a bit more!

My old girl in her early 20s:

When she was 24:

When she was 33 with my son on board:

I lost her last year at 35. :(

My Sec A 2 years ago at 19, now 21 and doesn't look much different, just hairier at the moment!:

My patchy pink Arab x a couple of days ago - aged 20:

WOW!! They all look fab! A total credit to you

This was my old girl at 35

I lost her less than a week after the show in the last two photos. She went down, and that was that. I'm glad it was quick for her sake, but it was a total shock for us. She came out of retirement in April 09, for light hacks when I was home from university, and she would still take off with me at 35!

ps sorry the photos are huge!

24 and fit as a flea. This is from the end of last summer. We did a 12 mile ride this weekend and he'd easily have gone round again.

This is Roger he'll be 24 at the end of next May. He has had an easy winter but as soon as the weather improves a bit we'll be out and about doing things again.
I have know him since he was 4 when my friend got him and se kindly gifted him to me about 5 years ago now, he is the light of my life and some days the only thing that makes me smile, even if sometimes i'm also shaking my head at him :-)

My mare 16, still ridden and still jumping, she's not showing any signs of slowing down, she schooled over 1.30m yesterday at home, and flew over the jumps with ease :)

And this is my friends and mine (we sort of share her :o ) 33 year old hunter ID x TB mare. She has cushings, pyometra and shows early signs of liver failure, 2 years ago she had a nasty rotational fall after which the vet gave her 1 month to live, well guess what, she's still here with us now and still drags us to the field and back every day, and still takes over the ex-racers galloping around the field :) She's now retired but was still in light work last year :)

39yro winston had him all my life (I'm 20) he is a blue cross pony has competed in prince Phillip cup and has competed with me and my sister till we were teenagers he now enjoys a life shouting at all the mares and being boss....he doesn't seem to be dropping down anytime soon!!!

This is Misty, sadly died many years ago now. She's in her mid 20s in the pic and lived until about 30. Never sick or sorry and looked fantastic until the day she was put to sleep. She just lay down in the field one day and couldn't get up. Pony of a lifetime. :)

My older boy who is 20. He still acts about 4 and is more of a handful to ride than my ex racer. He is my first horse and my horse of a lifetime. Can take him anywhere. We have done a bit of everything and he nearly always came home with a placing. Now semi retired to hacking as finds school work harder as he gets stiffer due to arthritis. Happily hacks out a few times a week and spends rest of his time playing and eating with his mates.

This is mine - Woody. He's 22 now (this pic was taken last year). He still hacks out and competes SJing, Dressage, XC

I had a 45 year old who I lost last year, can't post photos on phone but if you search for threads started by me or 'b's weekly walk' you find lots of photos

Oh no! :( Oh I'm so sorry Bettyboo, I didn't hear about that! :( I so loved seeing your weekly walks with B they were a favourite of mine and I used to tell the OH all about them :D That's so so sad :( She was a beautiful girl and you were so wonderful with her, my heart goes out to you! xXx

Sorry for the hijack OP! The oldies are lovely! :)

Here is our old girl, aged 32. We sadly lost her last September due to a very aggressive stomach tumour, but she was still being ridden and competed through the summer of 2012 (obviously before the tumour was noticed). We ha her for 16yrs, but funnily enough never owned her, she was on loan all that time.
(First time posting pics - sorry if they are huge!)

Lots of lovely sprightly oldies

This is our darling Merlin in his early 40's enjoying his well earned retirement after 20 or more years in the riding school - he lived for a few more years after this was taken. The most loved pony in the school.

Dolly, who is around 20 now. Still hacked out every day, took her hunting for the first time at 18, and off to our first fun ride of this year on Sunday.

Taken last year at 19, before she lost the mane.

Mousey is 20 now and took my little brother to his first sj competition on Sunday, resulting in 4th place :D
He's still full of energy and still has a hell of a buck on him!!
