Not cobby at all

I think to be honest it depends on how much ID they have in them

- why not look for a warmblood type if you dont want something cobby (or a TBX)?

very nice too!!!! see, thats what i had in mind when i started looking at ISH's.... but ive seen some that are more cobby and hairy than a pure ID!

technically hes not registered ISH as hes ID x TB (more thoroughbred though i think) but i thought you might like a piccy or two as hes definately not cobby!

This is my old horse Spike who now belongs to Rua on here.He is the chestnut. The bay behind is also ISH but slightly more tb in build. Both are registered and papered.

To me they don't look any more cobby... they just have more mane & feather whereas most people who've posted have horses that appear to either be fully clipped or in summer coat with nice pulled manes.
I think most horses look more 'cobby' when they aren't prettied up

The 2 in your ads look exactly like my ISH cross (until she's trimmed!!)...then you can see the tb side of the ISH in her....
We are not sure what mine is crossed with but believe it be a connemara...

The first one says Irish Bred though which doesn't mean its an ISH which is an Irish Draft/thoroughbred cross....

my girl has an ISH passport but is thought to be mainly ID but she is looks very smart and not cobby at all especially when trimmed up (would do a pic but too thick sorry). Its a bit like having to see through dodgy wall paper when looking at houses - just think what they will look like once you have taken the clippers to them.

Apparently I can't count and I have had 5!

Both of mine in my Siggy are ISH's
smile.gif
The bay mare I posted pics of jumping in the PG is the bay in my sig, and is "classic" Irish breeding with a bit of french thrown in
wink.gif
The coloured is a bit of a mystery, but still ISH
smile.gif
Probably pony or cobxTB

Everyone thinks my mare is an ex racer, and my gelding was a good "Sports horse" stamp

This is my new girl who is registered ISH by Clover Echo, who is by the famous Clover Hill.

Shes 3.5 years before she was broken, nice amount of bone but def not cobby

mine looks different depending on season and fitness level - she is more cobby i would say - she is idxtb - she does have feathers if i ever let them grow

thank you - i can see how the amount of tb effects the build. what would you say to this ISH in terms of build.i initially though cobby, but having read all your posts im trying to imagine minus the hair!

don't think Pidge would pass as cobby
