I need help with show names, as I am useless with names :p

I have rising 5yr old bay gelding who's name is Murphy, his breed is unknown. I plan to do showjumping & XC with him, but am just stuck on a show name... Any suggestions :D

How about a pun on Murphy? Full of mirth?

or as UD says 'mirth: Meaning - joy, to be happy, laughter and general merriment' how about General Merriment?

ooh very nice.
well, if he was mine, i'd call him The Conkerer, because he's the colour of a fresh conker!

fwiw his face looks incredibly like my first horse, and she was Irish x TB. He's got the same lovely honest face.
Jess, i'm very happy doing Show Names for any apart from my own, then i'm utterly rubbish!

Knock yourself out! The best I can come up with is HMS Brown Horse which really isn't much kop and probably isn't allowed because he clearly isn't Her Majesty's anything. Her horses are much nicer :p

And Nitty is just Nitty. I haven't even thought about her yet!

I shouldn't be allowed to buy youngsters which aren't already named, I really shouldn't!

For BH (all ways of saying Brown Horse according to google translate):

donn capall (Irish)
brun cheval (French)
brunnea equum (Latin)
braunes Pferd (German)
caballo marrón (Spanish)
etc....

He has indeed got an Irish head, very kind and wise. Murphy is an Irish name meaning "Sea Warrior". Depending on his personality, you could use Warrior in his show name?

I'd say something about his colour in his name, he is very bright red!

If you like the Irish theme, you could use "Red Branch Warrior" or just "Red Warrior". Cuchalainn was the most famous hero of Irish romance and the greatest "Red Branch Knight".

Possibly slightly wrongly the first thing that springs to mind (after a quick check of wikipedia ) as you call her Nits is Pediculus or P. H.Capitis...;)

Weirdly Pediculus is quite a pretty name! No idea why nits should have such a nice name mind you!

Really she is called Swift and BH is called Bradley. I think Swift is nice but I hate Bradley.

That's what I thought re: Pediculus, although could lead to some interesting conversations if people ask where you got it from  :D

Does the village or town where you live or your horse is kept fit in with Murphy. Years ago I had to register with the BSJA a horse with a single name and I put Craven (at the time she had just won the open jumping at the Vine and Craven hunt show) and Yatton (which is the village where she was kept when I bought her) in front of her name as options. As it was, her single name wasn't already registered so she just kept the single name.

Has anyone got any ideas for me? My horses passport name is Alloween and his stable name is Bailey. He's a chestnut cob cross with 3 white socks and a white blaze. He has some gold running through his mane + tail. His dam\sire info isn't filled in on his passport :) any clues?? There should be pictures on my sig if it works!! Xx
