My pony is 19 and is VERY clever, but sometimes she takes very forceful guesses. We were doing lead changes through trot in our lesson, but she just grabbed hold of the bit and tanked on, and changed in canter. It's nice to know she can do this and everything, but I was wondering if there was a way to stop this? I wa bareback and she continued to tank around the arena prancing about changing her leg every time I tried to cap her racehorse spirit xD she is good willed, but easily gets bored.
She is ridden in a snaffle with a flash and martingale. Farrier been out 2 weeks ago and had a teeth and vet check about a month ago. Her saddle was re fitted by a professional saddler 2 months ago after being ridden by her old owners in a painfully ill fitting saddle.
