Going to start practicing with F so we should be professionals by show time.

Going to do the lolly wrapper thing as suggested in the other thread, is the target to have his head at vertical ? Also when standing for the Judge where do I stand ?

What should I get him used to having someone doing ? Touching his legs ?

May also get some people to stand at side of menage and make general noise any voluteers :p

you will need:

A pram
A brolly
small children
People in large sun hats
lots of blue or white rope
and some sticky back plastic ;)

good luck!

Re the judging thing. Ask someone to go around him. standing up and crouching down at odd moments - trying to get the horse used to odd positions without lifting legs too much.

Oh and possibly pulling his tail (gently!) to the side to look at his back legs closely.

Re Standing: at the Head where ever horse is happiest with, but moving so that your always out of the line of sight for the judge (as my farrier says: they want to see the horse, not you!)

We have banners attached to the fence round our school. We asked our feed merchant very nicely (and YO had a son working there!) and we got a couple of old ones - the thick plastic/ tarpaulin types that advertise feed - good for despooking esp if you're going to be going indoors.

We are outdoors but a dog show is run simutaniously as well as bale pushing so there are lots of families and noise. Would it be worth putting a green ribbon in ? He has only kicked once but should I put red or will I be marked down ?
