B update first - Thought you would like an update on B. She has been doing very well recently, however she has droppeed a lot of weight. I managed to move her rubber matting into her new stable the other day.
I think she must be feeling a lot better because she keeps running off She has a fast trot
I have been walking her a lot and she isn't getting as out of breath when she walks back to the farm.
She hasn't been eating all her breakfast in the mornings , this got me slightly worried as to put it bluntly she is a pig. A lovely person on the yard lent me her equine decahedron, I kept refilling the ball with pony nuts and chaff so I could get some food into her. Beauty loved the ball and I'm going to get her one.
Oh and my achivement for the day is that I learnt how to do bankings ! I was very porud of my self
Here's a photo from the day I moved the mats, I would like to point out that I had on a hoodie and gillet under that coat.
And I was in Mottram show yesterday,
I stayed over at the owners house sat we didn't get to sleep until 3am we had to be up at 5 !!!! After a rather groggy waking up we dragged out selves to the yard. Did all jobs and got stuff in the car. We hacked to the show, well the owner hacked (x) I cycled. We arrived at the show, groomed and took the pony (S) into her first class, S hasn't shown in 13 years and outside the ring was mis-behaving (running, prancing, rearing) took her in the ring and she behaved amazingly. She got a 1st in spotted horse or pony, then we had to wait for my fancy dress class. I had dressed myself up as cruella d'ville and s was a dalmation because she is an bsp, we put a spotty tail cover on her and fake dog ears.
On the way to the class we were stopped by multiple people wanting photos, we were also collared by 'gallop' magazine for a photo. When I was in the ring I heard lots of whispers from the crowd, and the person speaking on the tannoy who was listing the fancy dress themes we had said 'and we have a cruella d'ville who looks amazing if I say so myself' I was feeling rather confident, which was good. When we were called in I came 5th out of 5 people I was pretty upset, and one person from the crowd even shouted 'Cruella should win'. I think my age let me down because I was against 6 year old on the lead rein.
I finally lead/was dragged back to where the car was parked, and I tacked up S so X could ride her home, its turns out that X had been stomped on and her foot was really sore we did a quick swap round. I ended up riding back, this would be fine except S is 13hh, I'm 5,6 and 8 1/2 stone. She didn't struggle on the way home, she is a hardy british spotted pony. I did feel like a pony squisher and I got some real dirty looks from people in the showground. She was really well behaved on the way back, she was getting a bit strong on the sand tracks so we had a canter, she is so fast she nearly gave me whiplash !!!
I haven't got any photos, but I will let people know if they are in gallop so you can look online
