With all these show threads going on I thought I would join in
A few weeks ago (27th May) I took my 7 year old cob out showing again. This time it was on an open field
we had slight problems at our last show and that was indoor!!! King is more of an idiot on a field than a school so I was fully expecting him to be as bad if not worse than last time. (Everything passed walk = King screaming and bucking)
I entered best turned out pony and rider, and the day before bathed King, cleaned his tack and all my things I didn't get to bed until 11.30pm!!
We looked like this....
We even managed to walk, trot and canter around the ring in a warm up without any sort of stupid screaming or bucking.... I have to keep myself relaxed as he was behaving

Out of 6 we came......
I was so pleased with him, he was such a star. That well behaved I tried the clear round jumping, the first time we have done a course!!!! And I hate jumping, luckly the lady organising it ran around at the side of me telling me what t do. She was the best, and with one down we did it

All I have to do is try my very hardest to stay relaxed and get King out more so he gets used to it. He was brill all day until we had the championship
where the judge had just finished saying "only walk and trot please" that King took off in bucking, leaping and galloping!! I said I was sorry and managed to keep him in trot after that
