So i have decided that i quite like the look of showing and have entered the relm of showing people and pretty ponies!
I entered a local show at chequar tree farm, thinking it wouldnt be busy etc...wrong! :S lol i went to get my number from secretaries hut and explained this was my first time ever showing and she was very helpful and lovely. My class was the second in hand class so i watched the first to get an idea of what was. Got the black beastie ready, her eyes on stalks we entered the ring for horse ring experience, some lovely horses, Delicia got a bit hot and in our individual show she cantered rather than walked :S but tbh was a nice canter just not asked for
but we got pulled in 3rd so got to be doing something right!
The second class, Potential Sports Horse, some very good exhibitors in this one, a lovely grey who i wouldnt of minded bring home. Delicia was impecible until....was we trotted past the judge in our individual trot up she bucked and tried to kick the judge :S not good at all! We were drawn fourth in that one and i was annoyed at the pony as we could have potentially won that class, damn mares and their seasons!
Entered turnout and condition and came 7th out of 35 entrants
and the judge said she wanted to take her home (i said have her please lol).
Last class for her for the day was the foreign breeds, tbh i didnt think i would have a chance in this one as there were two very very nice freisian carriage horses, 2 andalusians, a fjord, oldenburg and my hanovarian. However, delicia put on an impecible show, absolutly fabulous, so proud of her. but both the oldenburg and my hanovairan were drawn down the line. I think the winner was nice based on breed type but maybe i am biased but my pony is nice based on breed type. however the winner was justified and i was very happy with how delicia behaved and reacted in the last show so i walked away happy with out special rossette. Mum and a few others watching thought we were robbed in that class but i dont care, horse is happy, owner is happy, so that is all that matters to me
.
I have another showing show this coming sunday so fingers crossed she does even better this time!!!
watch this space!
