Evening all!
Firstly, congratulations to Fihunt and the gorgeous Genie who did so well today! Lovely to meet you both =]
So, today was Puzzle's first show! The report is going to be quite long but I'll include lots of pictures so if you want just flick through
Our day started last night really! With her having her first ever night in her stable. Didn't even bat an eyelid, she was really well behaved bless her. Then we groomed her and did alot of work on her phobia of water - and we can now chuck water over her and shes great. Next time we'll try the hose, but she was SO much better so I was really pleased with that. Loaded like a dream - after being questioned by YO as to where we were going as apparently Hyde stables have strangles - scary - but we weren't going there so thats ok!
So we got there, being REALLY careful putting her bridle on as last time she ran off round the lorry park! Took her in to prettiest mare and the little BUGGER wouldn't trot! She just planted herself and absolutely would not move. So that was pretty embarrassing. Photo!:
Note her hung head! She was totally asleep. Tired by the trailer I guess.
Anyway, we got 4th out of 5th, which was great as tbh I was expecting to come last as she just wouldn't trot.
I was only going to enter for one more class, but I thought it was really important for her development that she learnt she HAD to trot when asked so I entered Prettiest Mane and Tail (these are all novelty btw, was only going for the experience) and we WON! Which was amazing as they are both alot of hard work! But unfortunately she didn't have to trot LOL!
Photos!:
Then straight after that she did "Judge Would Most Like to Take Home". We came 6th out of 7 as she still really struggled with trotting, she was a bit better but not by much. At the end of that class I made her trot the whole way round the ring - and she did it beautifully with no problems!! Couldn't believe it!!!!
Then as we were leaving, the woman called out for all 1sts and 2nds to enter the championship class - so I went back in AGAIN! And this time apart from 2 secs of silliness, she trotted beautifully. We didn't get placed, but I was so pleased she behaved herself.
Final photos!:
Anyway, all in all had a totally fab day out. Thanks as always to my lovely OH who drives the trailer! She loaded without so much as a thought on the way back as well. Perfect yearling! xxx
