We have just acquired a tiny 9hh shettie for our son. He comes with a synthetic cub saddle that has seen better days so I am looking to replace it.
The saddle he has just now is a weeny 10" long but it fits well so we can't really go any bigger.
We are looking at showing next year so I want to invest in something suitable for the show ring. Having done a bit of research it seems that tiny saddles of standard composition are hard to come by. Most saddles 12" and under are synthetic cub saddles or felt/suede/leather 'pads'.
What are the rules regarding tack for teeny tiny ponies? Is a synthetic cub allowed or should I consider getting a leather pad?
