I have to bath a very muddy mare!

It's sunny but very windy and the only access i have to hot water is two kettles! She's a Section D but i feel awful putting the hose pipe over her in this weather!

Will she be ok? Any tips? I just know she's going to fidget!

Help!

She's out in the day and in at night and rugged.

She's flazen mane & tail!!

Just brush the mud off and then hot cloth her. Prepare a bucket of water just hot enough not to hurt your hands, soak a cloth or towel in it and wring it out well, then use to wipe over the coat.

I have a grey (white type not the nice dark kind...!) who's doing BSJA tomorrow although its currently a blizzard outside!! He will NOT get washed even though he had a brown face, neck and legs! The only thing Ill wash are his legs and tail, he'll freeze otherwise.

I assume yours isnt grey if its a D so if I were you I wouldnt dream of washing just now, Id just brush really well and spray her to death with show shine!

TGM has the right idea - not many horses are going to look pristine in the conditions we have this weekend, so don't get too hung up about it - just be thankful that you haven't got a grey horse!
