Show Turnout for a partbred?

So, we have a part bred welsh mare. The last few shows we have showed au natural, however todays show we were told that as she is part bred, she must be plaited, so for the next show we will be doing plait rosebuds.
However, I have read different things about rider clothing. Should she be presented as a show pony or a hunter?
If show pony, does rider require a navy jacket? If hunter, is it tweed jacket?
Also advice on velvet show browbands/plaited browbands please!! Thanks in advance :)

Feathers off, mane and tail pulled and mane plaited for partbreds.

I did plain Hunter bridle for showing as mine weren’t pretty headed show ponies more a chunky hunter type. Might get away with a plaited leather browband.

I have always shown in a tweed, evening performance was to be a navy jacket.

Thanks cheeky chestnut. Was hoping we could continue in tweed. At least we have the jacket right!

Always plaited and trimmed, but the specific turnout depends if she is a hunter/hack/SHP etc

Part breds should be plaited. If you don’t want to shorten her mane you could get away with a running plait. The bridle should be plain, black or brown for a local show.

We can’t tell hunter or show pony without decent photos.
i’ve had welsh partbreds that were show ponies, and some that were hunter ponies.

stick a good side on photo up and we can assess from there

You aren’t eligible for Mountain & Moorland as that’s for pure bred natives, not crosses. If she were mine I’d do a running plait which will look smart and show her neck off. I’d also trim her beard, if she has one, to make the most of her pretty head.

You won’t get penalised at local level whatever you do, so just remember to enjoy it. 😄

As others have said depends on the classes you're going for. Part breds are trimmed, pulled and plaited. M&Ms are "natural" so looking at the classes you have posted you would need to pick one or the other - bare in mind M&Ms should be pure bred (although don't think you would get checked at local level). If a chunkier type, I hazard a guess that turning out as a hunter type would be your best bet (this is what I do with my connemara - he is unregistered so show as a part bred/small hunter). Plain tack and non-coloured browband (can be plaited leather which I love) tweed jacket. Pony plaited, legs trimmed out and tail pulled or plaited (I prefer pulled personally but personal choice). If pony is much finer and more of a show pony type then turn out would be the same but coloured browband and navy jacket.

Also another question I’m showing my sec b mare ive shown her before but I don’t know what she has to be turned out like we were told to neaten her tail at the top but when I go to shows I see clipped and short tails and in my classes does she need a coloured brow band or plain ? Thank you xx

It depends on what classes you are doing. If she’s doing M&M she should be natural,
so although you can sort of tidy them up, they should look natural so no pulled tails. It’s quite usual to trim feather and beards and tidy the mane as long as not too obviously.

If you are doing classes such as riding pony or hunter, they should be plaited. At local level it doesn’t really matter too much though.

Tails should be pulled not plaited on riding ponies and hunters. Only brood mares are plaited now.

OP id personally turn yourout like a traditional rather than try and plait her up. She is coloured and has a good amount of feather.
Have a look at these for examples

You are not eligible for M&M.

Shes not a traditional, shes a coloured native. As such the turnout is very similar. Normally you'd pull the mane a bit, but as shes not yours and its only local level I wouldn't worry.

Thank you I wasn’t sure on showing trad as she hasn’t got feathers she’s only got a bit more than a sec d so not much that’s why I don’t think I should do her hair down as she’s not hairy x
