Ok so I want to do some SJ and Dressage local comps. Should I wear a stock or a tie with my shirt?
What else should I wear?

Thanks:D

For dressage a stock with your jacket and light jodhs.
For jumping either a stock or a stock shirt and light jodhs. Stock shirt looks v smart and no need for a stock/tie :-)
Long leather riding boots or jodhpur boots and gaiters.
Good luck!

Can anyone suggest any nice stocks preferably white but with a little something else (if you get what i mean? ) also not too expensive!

If you're wearing a stock you're better off wearing a stock shirt :)
I have however in the past got to a competition and forgotten my shirt (idiot) and got easily got away with wearing a white round neck tshirt under my jacket! Much more comfortable too ha ha

You can wear either a stock or a tie. If a stock then white or cream looks better with a navy or black jacket. If a tweed then shirt and tie or a coloured stock. Beige, white or fawn jods, long boots if a senior, short boots if a junior. Some dressage places now require light colours gloves instead of dark. Hair tied back or in a bun.

Ps if you don't have a stock shirt but want to wear a stock you can fold your shirt collar inwards and tie the stock round your neck - sorted!

Just looked at her feedback, never seen a seller with such good feedback after selling so much, i think that speaks volumes! I need a new stock so will def be getting one from there :)

thanks guys:) would you get a navy or a black show jacket? would this be okay for both show jumping and dressage? can anyone recomend a show jacket? not too expensive though!

Dublin do quite nice jackets for about £50 (the Hobart jacket, I think). I personally prefer tweed, but if you want a dark jacket I'd go for navy not black, but then again black makes me look washed out, so I'm biased :) tweed is never incorrect - you could invest in a nice tweed and you could wear it everywhere; SJ, dressage, ODE, cubbing/hunting, showing. Black or navy is fine for SJ and DR.
I'd go for an untied stock if I were you, and google 'how to tie a stock' or something, I'm sure there will be a 'how to..' guide online somewhere. I have a ready tied one and its so uncomfortable!
